The 21st century has seen the emergence of many new directions in architecture. Many of these make superficial or decorative use of new technologies without considering user needs of environmental context. A select group of international architects and designers reject this approach and have worked to creatively redefine architectural traditions using advanced technologies. Their designs are imaginative, innovative and uplifting. At this exhibition, we will show you the work of these talented architects and designers.
In 2018, an international idea competition to redesign the Band Rotunda in Wellington had completed successfully with more than five hundreds registrations globally. The result of this competition was briefly covered by local media. However, this exhibition will be the first time that those creative solutions for the Band Rotunda will be presenting to the Wellingtonians. This is also the first time that local architects and planners will share their visions and opinion about what this building could change the future of the Oriental Bay area.
